ActionAid Ethiopian girl

Sponsoring a child has been such a joy for me. I was told about the work of ActionAid, a charity working with children, families and communities in some of the poorest parts of the world.

In 1998 I was moved to support their Ethiopian projects by sponsoring a young girl called Muna Bekele. She reports that they are schooled, with our support, and some of their older family members are helped with producing and trading products, and to earn their livings in other ways.

I expect you probably already donate to charity, but in case you don’t and yet you think you can afford to give something, I sincerely would like to encourage you to do so. There are good charitable organizations everywhere.

Personally, I feel so grateful to have been born and raised exactly where I was, yet too many others are born into a world with so much going against them.

Anyway, you can see her here with her family and at her school. I hope you like the images I’ve published.
